KHUDAR: The Excise, Taxation, and Anti-Narcotics Department Khuzdar successfully foiled a major drug smuggling attempt by recovering 10 kilograms of charas (hashish) during an effective and timely operation .

According to the Excise Department spokesman, the operation was carried out on the special directives of Director General South Zone Muhammad Zaman Khan . The operation was led by Excise and Taxation Officer Muhammad Saleem , while Narcotics In-charge Mir Zakir Bajoi , Inspectors Mehboob Ali and Muhammad Akbar , and Constables Majid , Miraj , and Ubaid were also part of the team .

According to the spokesman, on the information of a secret informer , a checkpost was set up near Main RCD Road Sabzi Mandi . Excise officials signaled a Yaris car to stop, but the suspects attempted to flee .

The Excise team immediately chased and took the vehicle into custody . During a search of the vehicle, 10 kilograms of charas were recovered .

The suspects managed to escape from the scene by taking advantage of the darkness, however, raids are underway for their arrest .

Excise officials said that under the zero-tolerance policy against drugs, the pace of such operations will be further accelerated and strict action will be taken against those involved in smuggling .

It is noteworthy that this operation by the Excise Department in Khuzdar is part of the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign across the province .
