TEHRAN: The Iranian government spokesperson has stated that 350 government employees have lost their lives during the 5-month war with the United States, and all were targeted while performing their official duties .
According to the spokesperson, these government employees include doctors, nurses, wiremen, and other staff who lost their lives while on duty .
Earlier, Iranian officials had reported that US and Israeli strikes have killed 226 women and 204 children, while 17 medical workers and 206 teachers and students also lost their lives .
Tensions between the US and Iran escalated sharply following joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran starting on February 28, 2026 . Despite an interim ceasefire brokered by Pakistan in April 2026, clashes have continued and negotiations have stalled .
According to figures, over 7,000 people have been killed in Iran during the 5 months of war, of which 40% are civilians, while more than 34,000 have been injured . Iranian officials report that over 125,000 civilian facilities have been destroyed or damaged .
