WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has given important statements regarding ongoing contacts with Iran, relations with Israel, Russia's role, and US ammunition stockpiles.

Iran Ceasefire Negotiations

President Trump stated that the ongoing ceasefire negotiations with Iran are "moving along well." He expressed belief that there is "a very good chance something will happen." However, he made it clear that if a new agreement is not reached, the US will resume military strikes on Iran.

President Trump said he halted strikes on Iran because intermediary countries requested he give negotiations another chance. He also stated that he believes Iran is serious about reaching an agreement.

Iran's Position

However, Iran has clarified that it is not conducting any direct negotiations with the US. An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that the negotiations taking place are between Iran and Oman and are not related to the US.

Meeting with Israel

President Trump will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on July 28. Regarding this meeting, Trump said that although there are "some differences" between the two leaders on the Iran issue, their positions are "very close" overall.
