Quetta, July 31, 2026 – The Balochistan High Court has ordered the immediate removal of the FC (Frontier Corps) check post established at Imdad Chowk in Quetta.

The landmark decision was announced on a constitutional petition filed by Advocate Syed Nazir Agha. In its written order, the High Court stated that the FC check post was causing unnecessary hardships to citizens and was in violation of the fundamental right to freedom of movement.

The court directed that the check post be dismantled immediately and that the relevant authorities ensure compliance with the order without any delay.

Following the verdict, citizens and traders have expressed relief and satisfaction, as they had been facing long queues and daily difficulties due to the check post's presence.

It may be noted that for the past several months, the FC check post at Imdad Chowk had caused severe traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public. Various social and business figures had repeatedly demanded the removal of this check post, but authorities had taken no action.

Legal experts are calling this judgment a significant step toward protecting citizens' civil liberties. According to legal analysts, this ruling will set a precedent for future petitions against similar check posts in the province.

The court has also directed the relevant authorities to submit a compliance report within a stipulated timeframe.
