Government and private buildings have been decorated with national flags and electric lights, while citizens have also adorned their vehicles and homes with flags.

In Balochistan, Independence Day is being celebrated with full enthusiasm. A flag-hoisting ceremony was held in Quetta under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, while events have also been organized in all districts of the province. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Balochistan plays a key role in Pakistan's survival and progress and the nation will face every challenge united .

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari extended their greetings to the nation and reaffirmed their commitment to Pakistan's stability, unity, and progress. In his message, the Prime Minister said that August 14 reminds us of the sacrifices of Pakistan's founding fathers, and we must play our role in the development and prosperity of our country .
