Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited Pakistan's largest defence industrial complex, the Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) in Wah. The visit was centered on evaluating POF's production capabilities, export potential, and its role in strengthening the national defence industrial base .
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir was briefed on various aspects of POF's operations and its role in indigenous development and production of military equipment. He witnessed the tests and trials of locally designed and manufactured arms and ammunition, underscoring POF's commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and enhancing Pakistan's defence production capabilities .
The Field Marshal was also presented with an overview of the progress on the corporatisation process of POF following the enactment of the Defence Industrial Production and Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DIPRA) Ordinance . He was also apprised of ongoing indigenisation and upgradation efforts through the installation of two new industrial plants, which are likely to commence production by the end of the current year .
