Quetta, July 30, 2026 – The Government of Balochistan has officially declared District & Sessions Judge (BPS-21) Abdul Hakim Kakar and Police Head Constable Muhammad Zaman as martyrs (shaheed) under the Balochistan Civil Servants and Employees Benefits and Death Compensation Policy 2020.

Separate notifications to this effect were issued by the Balochistan Home Department, exercising powers conferred under Section 17 of the Balochistan Civil Servants and Employees Benefits and Death Compensation Policy 2020.

According to the official notification, District & Sessions Judge Abdul Hakim Kakar was martyred on July 23, 2026, when terrorists opened fire on his vehicle near the railway crossing at Wali Khan Cross on Main RCD Road in Mastung district. In the same attack, Head Constable Muhammad Zaman, who was on duty with the judge, also embraced martyrdom while performing his official responsibilities.

The Home Department's notification confirms that both martyrs will be entitled to all financial and service benefits under the government's compensation policy, including:

· Full death compensation package as per policy provisions

· Service benefits for their families

· All other entitlements applicable to government employees martyred in the line of duty

The Balochistan Government has reiterated its firm commitment that the sacrifices of public servants and officials who lay down their lives in the war against terrorism will always be remembered. The government further assured that complete patronage and support would be provided to the families of the martyrs.
