QUETTA, August 8, 2026 – On the occasion of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Wukala (Lawyers Martyrs Day), a Quran Khwani ceremony was held at the Balochistan High Court today in memory of the lawyer martyrs of the August 8, 2016 tragedy.

On the 10th anniversary of the martyrs, the legal community paid rich tributes to their immense sacrifices and offered special prayers for their elevated ranks in the hereafter. The ceremony was attended by lawyers across the province who remembered the fallen heroes of the legal fraternity.

The ceremony was attended by ILF Balochistan President Advocate Syed Abdul Salam Agha, Additional Secretary General Advocate Imran Khan Nasir, Finance Secretary Advocate Mehboob Khan Kakar, Vice President Youth Chapter Advocate Iftikhar Doutani, Information Secretary Advocate Gul Akbar Domar, and Pashtunkhwa National Lawyers Forum President Advocate Shams Kakar.

Speaking on the occasion, the participants paid glowing tributes to the lawyer martyrs, stating that the legal fraternity has always struggled for justice and the rule of law, and the lawyer martyrs are a great symbol of this struggle. They said that the August 8, 2016 tragedy remains one of the darkest chapters in the history of the legal community, but the sacrifices of the martyrs will always inspire the bar to remain steadfast in its mission.

Advocate Syed Abdul Salam Agha said that the blood of the lawyer martyrs will always irrigate the soil of justice and their sacrifices will not go in vain. He reaffirmed that the legal fraternity will continue its struggle for justice, law, and the supremacy of the Constitution.
