A grand flag-hoisting ceremony was organized in Quetta on August 14, 2026, to celebrate the 79th Independence Day. Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Acting Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Ms. Ghazala Gola graced the occasion with their presence.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, during which security officials and citizens saluted the national flag. On this occasion, the Chief Minister and the Acting Speaker hoisted the national flag and expressed their best wishes for the country's development, prosperity, and security .
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said on the occasion that Independence Day reminds us of the great sacrifices of our forefathers and that we must remain united for Pakistan's progress and stability. He said that the people of Balochistan have always expressed their commitment to Pakistan and will continue to do so .
Acting Speaker Ms. Ghazala Gola said that women are playing a key role in Balochistan's development and empowering them in society is among the government's priorities. She said that Independence Day gives us the message of adhering to the national motto of unity, faith, and discipline.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of security officials, police personnel, social figures, and citizens. At the conclusion of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the security and prosperity of the country .
